History didn't end with the ancient world, and it definitely didn't get easier.

Not So Ancient is a stickman history channel about how ordinary people survived the 1400s, 1500s, 1600s and 1700s. Plague doctors and plague pits. Surgery without anesthesia. Witch trials, sea voyages that killed half the crew, winters without heating and cities without sewers.

Follow Ned, our very ordinary guy in a red neckerchief, as he lands in a different century every episode and tries not to die.

No kings-and-battles lectures. Just the real, strange, often brutal daily life of people who lived only a few hundred years ago, explained simply and visually.

Every episode asks one question: "How did people actually survive this?"
