Welcome to the official YouTube channel of author Aaron Chavez.

I’m an educator, school superintendent, author, and chainsaw artist with more than 25 years of experience working with children, families, and schools.

My children’s series, Brin and Melly Adventures, began in an unexpected place, with a chainsaw carving of a bear and an owl I created while working at an international school in China. Years later, that carving inspired Brin, a bighearted grizzly bear, and Melly, a tiny owl named after my granddaughter Melody.

What started as a carving has grown into a series of stories about friendship, kindness, courage, belonging, and discovering who you are meant to be.

I’ll share Brin and Melly stories, book readings, behind the scenes looks at the creative process, chainsaw carving, upcoming adventures, and the journey of building this series from the ground up.

I believe the world could use a little more kindness, and sometimes a bear and a little owl can help remind us of that.
