Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race

The Gladstone Ports Corporation Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race is one of Australia’s premier ocean yacht races, recognised as a Queensland icon and the highest-profile sporting event over the Easter weekend. 
Held annually, the race starts on Good Friday in Moreton Bay, near Sandgate, and covers approximately 308 nautical miles to Gladstone. The race attracts entrants from Australia and overseas, all competing for the Courier Mail Cup—one of Australia’s oldest continuously contested perpetual trophies.
In 2017 the race start was live-streamed for the first time, offering global audiences a free broadcast of the pre-race and start. Since then, live coverage has evolved into a high-quality, multi-camera production proudly supported by Gladstone Regional Council each year. The Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race remains a prestigious and historic event, bringing together top sailors, committed sponsors, and passionate spectators to celebrate Queensland’s rich maritime heritage.
