Assumption of Risk

Lawyers are trained to avoid risk. This show is about taking it.

Assumption of Risk is a podcast for lawyers, founders and operators who have pushed the envelope and lived with the consequences. Hosted by Ian R. Cohen, an M&A lawyer and fractional GC, and Fernanda Hinojosa Cantu, an IP and tech transactions lawyer, the show trades war stories and hot takes from both sides of the table.

Every episode has two halves. In the first, Ian and Fernanda argue: one claim, two sides, decided by a LinkedIn poll posted the day before we record. We also cover the week's most viral legal screw-up, ethical dilemmas with no clean answer, and the real problems lawyers deal with on their own. In the second half, a founder takes the hot seat and tells us what lawyers get wrong.

We want your stories too. The risk you took, the one you didn't, the client who crossed the line. Send them in. We change the details and never name names.

Episodes coming soon.
