Às Armas - History of Portugal

The history of Portugal your textbook squeezed into two lines, told by the people who were there.

A spy sent across the world to find a legendary king. A kingdom of barely a million people that split the world in half with Spain. Ships that left Lisbon and reached Brazil, India, China and Japan. From the Age of Discovery to colonial Brazil, from the Middle Ages to the Portuguese Empire: every episode is a complete documentary, with a beginning, a middle and an end.

Everything is built from period sources: the chronicles, the letters, the maps and the books that survived. The sources for each video are always in the description.

Episodes are narrated in Portuguese, with English subtitles and English audio where available.
