Arnie Lipsey Artist

Toronto-based artist Arnie Lipsey's paintings begin with an archival family photograph, and branch out into thematic explorations of war, survival, immigration, family life, and leisure.

My parents were European Jews who came to Montreal Canada in the mid 1930s. Although they escaped Hitler's terror, they both lost many family members in the Holocaust. While much of my work draws from my own family's archives, I welcome commissions to help others preserve what they love.

Whether it’s a portrait, a family home, a beloved pet, a wedding, or a cherished memory, I can bring these elements to life through the eyes of an artist who understands your story.
