The Anglican Diocese of Tabora

The Diocese of Tabora was inaugurated on 2nd July 1989. The Diocese of Tabora occupies an area of 96,000 Square Kilometer of rural western Tanzania. It is about one tenth of the area of mainland Tanzania. Most people are involved in subsistence agriculture—in other words they grow the food they need to feed themselves and their families.

The Diocese has 9 Deaneries, 56 Parishes, 163 Congregations, and over 25,000 Believers.

Evangelism, Education and Social Development are three stepping-stone ministry of our Diocese. In order to fulfil its mission and vision; the Diocese of Tabora for many years has been working closely with the government of Tanzania and Non-governmental organizations to provide social services such as Education, Health and Sanitation.
