Amir Douglas Seyfi

Amir Douglas Seyfi, professionally known as AD Seyf, is a British-Iranian musician distinguished for his work as a guitarist, vocalist, composer, and arranger. Born in Tehran to a musical family, he received his early musical education from his father, an accomplished pianist.
Seyfi's musical development began with piano instruction, later expanding to self-taught classical guitar by age twelve. His artistic evolution was shaped by influential artists such as J.J. Cale, Jeff Beck, and Hendrix, leading to a distinctive style that synthesizes rock, blues, and folk elements.
His formal music education includes studies in solfege, vocal techniques, and traditional Iranian music and rock. As the founder and lead guitarist of Fast Reef, he navigated Iran's complex musical landscape before establishing his solo career.
Performing as AD, his signature style draws from the Tulsa Sound tradition, characterized by intricate polyphonic arrangements and methodical bass progressions.
