Alsterdamm Academy

The ALSTERDAMM was founded in 1946 by Gerd F. Setzke as the Kunstschule Alsterdamm and advanced to become one of the most renowned vocational schools for graphic design in Germany. Generations of students have won numerous national and international competitions and participated in many internal client projects. Over the years, some 3,500 graduates have launched successful careers in design and advertising agencies and publishing houses or founded their own creative agencies.

Alsterdamm alumni were characterized by a high level of creative and technical expertise in analog media and, since the 1990s, also in digital media. The lecturers were for the most part former Alsterdamm alumni themselves and had a decisive influence on the tradition and quality of the ALSTERDAMM. They shaped a school of seeing and promoted the individual development possibilities of the students - always closely oriented to practice.
