Alice and the Land that Wonders

'Alice and the Land that Wonders' is a project born in 2011 as a theatrical show staged by teenage boys. The director, Giulia Grandinetti, decided in 2014 to transcribe the film version and make her first feature film. Loosely inspired by Lewis Carroll's two novels "Alice in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking Glass", the author/director aims to recreate a contemporary vision of Carroll's nightmare. How does a teenager feel today when faced with the convention of becoming an adult at eighteen? Intertwined with the theme of growth, the director also investigates the sense of emptiness, loss and desire for suicide, as a hypothesis of rebirth.
