A personal account of running the first red king crab hatchery in the Bering Sea. Daily work, live larvae, broodstock females, and what it actually takes to raise king crab from egg to juvenile on a remote island 300 miles off the Alaska coast.

I'm Cal — Unangan Aleut, born on St. Paul Island. I watched the king crab fishery collapse. This project is my chance to do something about it.
