Ad Urbem

Lūdus tōtus Latīnus.

Ad Urbem is a role-playing game entirely in Latin. You are Gaius Valerius, a young Roman of the 2nd century, setting out from his family's villa on the road to Rome. Everyone you meet speaks Latin, and nothing is translated: you work out the meaning from the scene, and when a word stops you, the game explains it in simpler Latin.

This channel plays the game from the beginning, episode by episode. Follow along whether you are just starting Latin or reading it well: you hear every line spoken, and the pointer moves over the harder words as they are said.

The music is our own arrangements of surviving ancient Greek melodies.
