Acquiring Chinese

Learn Chinese with no pressure.

I'm Kevin Tong, a native Chinese speaker, and I make slow, natural Mandarin videos using comprehensible input. No textbook required, no grammar drills before you start, and no need to memorize long vocabulary lists just to follow along.

You'll hear simple Chinese in real-life moments, clear visual stories, everyday scenes, and videos with my three pets. The goal is simple: help you understand Chinese from day one, one small moment at a time.

This channel is inspired by language acquisition research from linguists like Dr. Stephen Krashen: we learn best when the input is both comprehensible and compelling. Chinese should feel like curiosity, not homework.

Start with everyday life. Stay for the stories. And when you're ready, dive into bigger Chinese classics like Journey to the West (西游记) — already underway, told clearly and at your pace.
