Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens

With over 30 acres, the Subtropical Gardens are home to over 6000 species from across the world. Described as a ‘Plantman’s Garden’, this world renowned paradise is unique and nestled on the edge of the Dorset Jurassic Coast.

Being less than a mile from the sea, the Gardens are milder in the winter and cooler in summer. Over time the climate and various aspects of its location, all combined make for a micro-climates where many species of plants thrive.

The Plant Centre at Abbotsbury is a must-visit for garden lovers. With a range that reflects the beauty and diversity of the Gardens themselves, each plant has been chosen or grown with care. 

Planning a visit or simply dropping in for lunch or a coffee, the Café is open to everyone – no Gardens entry ticket is required.
