A Life In The Desert

A Life in the Desert  is the story of legendary explorer, historian, and wilderness activist Steve Allen and his efforts to protect Utah’s imperiled landscapes.  The film highlights the legacy of the 1964 Wilderness Act and the proposed 8.4-million-acre America’s Red Rock Wilderness Act.  It touches on the threats to those lands, including hard rock mining, oil and gas development, unchecked off-road vehicle use, livestock grazing, and road construction and upgrading. 
Blending environmental advocacy, history, and intimate storytelling, A Life in the Desert  is a tribute to a remarkable life lived in wild places and a call to safeguard those places for all time and for all Americans.
