883 Air Commodore Leonard Birchall Squadron

883 Air Commodore Leonard Birchall Squadron was officially stood up on 09 November 2011. The squadron first opened its doors with 53 Cadets and 8 Staff members, parading out of Randall P.S. in Markham, ON. The squadron is very involved with the local community, serving it on numerous different occasions. The growth of 883 has directly affected the success of the squadron. Today, the squadron parades approximately 140 cadets and hopes to keep growing.

Royal Canadian Air Cadets is a dynamic and interactive youth leadership and development program sponsored by the Air Cadet League of Canada and the DND. The mission of the Cadet Program is to contribute to the development and preparation of youth for the transition to adulthood, enabling them to meet the challenges of modern society, through a dynamic community-based program.
