84 BAD | Motorcycle Adventures

Long-distance motorcycles. Big adventures. Honest gear reviews.

I’m John “84 BAD” Hilton—an Iron Butt long-distance rider and former high school football coach documenting motorcycle travel, ADV riding, bike builds, gear testing and the road to my 2027 Alaska/Canada Double Arctic Expedition.

Before motorcycles became this big a part of my life, football was. The name 84 BAD goes back to my playing days, and you’ll still find some of my old football and coaching videos here. They’re staying—they’re part of the journey.

Now the next chapter is about miles: Iron Butt rides, Harleys, adventure motorcycles, long-distance travel and preparing my Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer for an 11,000+ mile expedition through Canada to Arctic Alaska and back.

Follow along as I test the motorcycles, equipment and technology that make these adventures possible—and work toward the ultimate goal of riding motorcycles around the world.
