Saving for retirement can be confusing. Teachers have a myriad of retirement plan options: pension, 403(b), 457(b), 401(a), and in some cases a 401(k). Making it even harder is the simple fact that the K-12 403(b) is broken. Typically school employees only have access to high-fee, commission sold 403(b) products. Teacher Dan Otter, PhD, and fiduciary planner Scott Dauenhauer, CFP, have been helping teachers better understand their retirement plans since 2000. They don't sell product. They simply provide education through their weekly podcast Teach and Retire Rich, Dan's book Teach and Retire Rich https://teachandretirerich.com/ and the non-profit website www.403bwise.org.
