This channel is a COLLECTOR's channel.
Use the PLAYLIST option - containing over 1,000 videos in 100 playlists as of Sept 09.

Educational and entertaining videos about Texas history, literature, culture, and some occasional whimsy.
Videos are collected from other Channels and grouped into topical PLAYLISTS.

To see all 100 playlists, go to the bottom corner of the Playlists box and click the "see all" button.

Oddly, Youtube doesn't alphabetize the names of the playlists.
About Me:

Retired Texana librarian, publisher "Will's Texana Monthly, An e-journal of reviews, news, and electric observation," and host of several websites, including the Texas Parlor, Texas Bookshelf, Young Texas Reader, and Texas Blog Notes. To which I'm now adding the "Texas Youtube Library" to collect Texana Youtube videos. So this "Texas Youtube Library" is MOSTLY an electronic library of other folks' videos about Texas. Use the PLAYLISTS, expressed in GRID fashion, for best results.
I may later revive the "Favorites" section for special attention to some videos..
Hometown:
Marshall, Texas
Country:
United States
Occupation:
Texana librarian, publisher, broadcaster
Companies:
TSLAC, Amarillo PL, Houston PL, Will's Texana
Schools:
I realize that some schools for younger students block Youtube from classrooms. However, teachers may find that they can download some videos for separate presentation to the students.
Hobbies:
Texas bibliography. Recently "joanhood1" on Youtube has begun a collecting channel about Texas women. I encourage others to do something similar for selected statewide or general local interests. Please let me know. Thanks, Will
Movies:
I would enjoy more videos that reflect the past, bird's-eye the present, or contribute to a substantive and humane civilization in Texas. Please let me know.
Music:
There's so much music on Youtube that it's not practical to wrestle with much of it here, so I've only added a few playlists - not much of which is the modern cattawallering cacaphony.
Books:
I'm hoping that some folks will begin reviewing Texana in videos. I'fn I were encouraged, I'd maybe begin posting your taped book reviews here.

Remarkably interesting, Will. It's like having a boxful of old photos, except they move. Apparently, a subscriber must start a Youtube account to subscribe, but that was easy. Who knows, maybe I'll make some videos myself or pick a few favorites.
