In 1969, Fred Rogers appeared before the United States Senate Subcommittee on Communications. His goal was to support funding for PBS and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, in response to significant proposed cuts by President Nixon.

  • @toxyoxin Unfortunately, he was never in the marines, that's an urban legend :( But he's still a wonderful human being.

  • I grew up watching Mr Roger's Neighborhood. Listening to him read the lyrics of the song at the end gave me goosebumps and a tear. If only there were more Mr. Rogers' out there.

  • Mr. Rogers is a great humanitarian who happens to care deeply for people. He is a wonderful man with a heart of gold. He was on the Arsenio Hall show and he threw out the first pitch at a major league baseball game. He will always be remembered. I love you Fred. Rest in peace.

  • I liked mr rogers show because when he would cut construction paper it sounded awesome, his fish was a beast, and I liked his song at the start
