The British or English people speak English by default. The rest of the Anglo world speak English with accents. North American English is one of them. Bardem speaks with Spaniard accent, but no matter what accent you have or which part of the world you are, when you are educated and sophisticated, when you speak your brain will translated that in to the language you need to communicate. Bardem is capable of that as many American actors that speak other languages.

@baceace Woody Allen is of German-Jewish background. In Europe, where Bardem came from, specially from Germany when you write W you pronounce it V. Example, when Americans pronounce Wagner with the W and in Germany, which the name originated, they pronounced with V as Vagner.

Is Spain, a European country and part of the European Union use the German pronunciation for the Germanic names. Such as Woody Allen, even so he is Jewish the name originated in Germany. therefore he says Voody.
