Simply put - The Two Cathedrals is quite possibly the finest ~41 minutes in television history.

Yes to all of those... but also... the senior staff lined up like a silent Greek chorus (and how wonderfully they're lit). And the cliffhanger of his putting his hand in his pockets before he answers - which shows he has made up his mind...

I must have seen this 20 times or more, but still get a shiver at 'Watch this...'

Possibly the greatest act in the whole 7 series. Phenomenal acting, directing, writing and choice of music.

Greatest directing is half music. Bravo :) and thanks:

I absolutely love the camera work. Aaron Sorkin and others are to be commended continuously for this scene. And the music... Dire Straits, Brothers in Arms, fits perfectly.

Camera work in the ending is just fantastic... Following the hands of Bartlett to his pockets, then up his body to his face, circling around the back of his head to the other side to present his profile alongside the flag in one smooth motion, in perfect rhythm with the song... Well done, gentlemen! Well done!

The first 4 seasons are fantastic as they were created while Aaron Sorkin was working for the show. After he left, you can definitely tell the difference. The dialogue wasn't as clever/witty.

Whenever I rewatch episodes, they are always within the first 4 seasons.

If this episode is any indication of how awesome and chilling this rest of the series will be. Then I will very much be looking forward to investing myself in it.

I love how Sorkin, known for razor sharp and quick witted dialogue, delivers one of the finest moments in television history with a simple act of a character putting his hands in his pocket, turning away and smiling.

If you go back and look at the entire episode again there is a part in one of the flash back scenes that he does the samething putting his hands in his pockets. Think about it that is actually a tip off to what he is going to do. Would also say the scene with CJ in the oval about who to call on first and then he looks at him and goes to the other reporter.
