Fair enough, and you make interesting points about there being hints of earlier creation work. The problem I have with this kind of analysis is the same problem that atheists have with the entire Bible... that is, since there are no original autographs, we are forced to consider only translations of translations. Who is to say that the translation that you are considering is faithful to the original? Thanks for providing good responses to folks' comments here.

@Leafshinoby Genesis quickly answers what we should do (2:15)- Be of service and protect the Earth. Most of the rest of the Bible is an elaboration of that. I know it's a shock to find out what you've been told is false I took years before starting these videos to make sure what I'm putting here is correct But the text has always said this- and it's consistent (unlike translations). I hope you'll find the original text provides a more sustainable basis for living- and makes sense, too Blessings

SO what? all that I've believed was wrong? there are more gods? Imperfect Dieties that created our land and the skies? Now I don't know if you have heard of the "Legend of Zelda" but this sure sound like that...
And what now? We aren't to polute and populate the world, what should we do? can you please reply? I'm very confused

"In A beginning" sounds far-fetched. If the text meant to convey an infinite regress of time, then "beginning" isn't really a good choice of word here.

@BrotherAngstrom Maybe so, but that's what the Hebrew says. An infinite regression isn't indicated- just prior beginnings. There are hints of earlier creations/universes throughout- waters, darkness, spirits pre-existing the creating of 1:2; an oral tradition of multiple starts. And the events of Genesis 1-2 can be seen as happening in parallel universes/dimensions, as suggested by the different verbs (create, form, make= universes known as B'riyah, Yetzirah, and Asiyah). Thanks, BrotherA.

This is great, I think, as I feel no one really knows yet. This is actually what I summized from my studies, but have never seen it really validated as in this vid. Very interesting.
