Except that Mark Carson was murdered by a straight man whom he did not know and who began hurling gay epithets at him and his friends without provocation, as per eyewitness account. And I love that 99.9% figure which you pulled from planet Uranus. You are proving yourself to be unintelligent. I'm sure you could never empathize like Christ would with a gay teen, who has been disowned by his or her family, falling prey to homelessness or drug use as a result of that immoral discrimination.

Unmarried opposite-sex couples: $62,857

Unmarried SAME-sex couples: $103,980

These facts validate the stereotype of affluent gays and lesbians who embrace the consumer culture.

It also exposes the comparison between homosexuals and poor blacks as self-serving propaganda — as the campaign for "gay marriage" tries to steal the mantle of the Civil Rights Movement.

Children often incur sexual assault in this country. "70% of all reported sexual assaults (including assaults on adults) occur to children ages 17 and under." It would be impossible for national media to cover even 1% of such cases. That is why that case wasn't as significant as a HATE CRIME perpetrated against an oppressed minority. Hate crimes only occur when a minority has been demonized. Reporting on hate crimes reminds the nation that hate and bigotry still exist out there in our society.

Gays are oppressed because in large swaths of the country, gays are disowned by family members, bullied, and not allowed the right to be with the one they love in matrimony. Also, as I keep reiterating, gays have been oppressed throughout much (but certainly not all -- crack open a history book) of human history.
