  • There is a reason that Transcend cards are so cheap... They use memory chips from other manufactures, who deem these memory chips unsuitable for their own products. These manufactures then sell those chips for very cheap and certain companies such as Transcend buy them and make their own products with them. This is the reason your class 10 card was slower than the class 6. Use a brand like sandisk, and you will see a huge difference in speed.

  • @Booyaaa100, getting a sandisk is about double the price, paying the premium of course we should get the best. What Transcend and other brands offer would be good if half the price could do 80% or better speed. Just that now Transcend itself would have inconsistent performance if we just look at the "class", what a shame.

  • Transend are some of the most faked cards out there. If you got it off ebay there's a good chance it was fake.

  • @TheGrowDude, I got it from official seller, it is not a faked one.

  • I just put aside all those Transcend card and use the recent bought Lexar. Keep happy shooting and get rid of unreliable ones...

  • Thanks to Nron13. Please note that for comparison, the dial is set to CL at the default 3 shots per second settings. As long as both card use the same settings, it would be irrelevant to use CL or CH.

  • Can D7000 shoot RAW at 6fps or does it have to be JPEG?

  • @Booyaaa100

I have both cards, I found that they are absolutely identical.

  • i would still get the class 10 for memory saving ^________^ or is the slowness stop that memory saving thingy :D ???

  • @marcusboos78 action shots, fast moving objects like race cars on the track and/or sports.

  • So an other question, what do you guys need a burst mode for? What about anticipation instead of spry and pray (for a good picture)?

  • so what is faster?

  • Tengo una D300s y uso SCANDISK creo que es la mejor, tengo una EXTREME compacflash y una EXTREME PRO SD muy buenas y rapidas las dos.

    Siempre y cuando sean ORIGINALES.

I have one D300s and use SCANDISK I think is the best, I have an EXTREME EXTREME PRO CompactFlash and SD very good and fast the two. As long as they are original.

  • The only real reason why you would need a class 10 would be for RAW or for filming video

  • NO - buy a Sandisk extreme 16GB or UHS-1 16GB. If you have a D7000 and can afford it, run 2x 16GB Extreme or UHS-1. Don't touch transcend. Also, I do not advise buying memory cards online - if they seem to be a great deal $ they are either FAKE or factory throw away. Don't waste your money on an inferior memory card or risk poor performance or MOST IMPORTANT - lose photos that you cannot get again WHEN it fails on you at the worst time! @nicks3456

  • SHXC 64GB and will be up to 4TB - I think). I have used a good LEXAR card. But in the end, Sandisk invented the flash memory card, and continue to be the best quality. No, I don't work for SanDisk, but I did used to manage a camera store and tested with so many cameras, personally own a D80 and D7000. I have also done THOUSANDS of data recoveries on memory cards - VERY rare for me to get a SanDisk, those I did get were 100% recoverable and cause by pull out when writing. Mostly transcend!!

  • Your problem is very easy to identify even in the title. You have TRANSCEND memory cards - cheap and unreliable, low quality cards. ONLY brand I would recommend is Sandisk - D7000 is ready for the UHS-1, I would highly recommend you use these. Otherwise the Extreme. Ultra would do the job. Standard too slow. Don't worry about the SD, SDHC, SDXC - only has to do with capactity/format and your D7000 will work with all of them (SD up to 2GB, SDHC 4GB to 32GB, SDXC 64GB and will be up to 4TB)

  • woow thats slow , mine does around 4/sec on class 10 (real one)

  • it could be a fake one???

  • Go with a Sandisk 16GB Extreme iii Class 10. Best card for the money

  • You shouldn't be afraid to talk in your reviews. Just a constructive comment. Thanks for posting.

  • Would you recommend a transcend 32gb sdhc

  • I also have a D7000 and you should check your quick shoot dial settings,

Because i can see you have it set on CL rather than CH.

Also if you shoot this way using jpeg you will shoot more.

Now try it shooting in CH mode and see the difference these are my Sandisk Extreme Pro 8GB SDHC Card. They let you shoot even quicker than transend.

Also your shooting in RAW+ which means you are shooting RAW as well as jpeg on the same memory card.Try it again on RAW then you will see the difference.

  • Tenes una camara cara. Porque no intentas con una Sandisk. No se cuanta diferencia de precio puede haber, pero yo uso Sandisk y es mucho mas veloz. Te mando un abrazo y contame como te fue. Desde argentina. Cristian

  • Just tested the same operation with a Sandisk Extreme Class 10 card. It's waaaaay faster than both Transcend cards.
