I think the premise of virtually every single episode of "Law & Order" hinges upon folks who are ignorant of this lawyer's advice!

So right about law & order. The favorite phrase used has to be " lawyered up " said in a accusatory fashion. They love to imply that only the guilty need lawyers. Very dangerous to get your legal advice from a tv show .

I used to enjoy watching his Federal Express commercials back i nthe 80's. Never knew anyone could talk that fast before seeing them. Glad to see he's back and faster than ever.

This is hilarious. Regent U. was founded by and trains footsoldiers for the Religious Right, and the "former student" he is referring to at the start is probably Monica Goodling, a central figure in the US Attorney firings scandal at the end of the last Bush term. "Don't talk to cops" is now the mantra of the Religious Right, according to their official university? After all, they only fear God's law, not Man's

Totally enlightened by this lecture. I am a layman in terms of the study of law, and I know Regent U is founded by Pat Robertson... but if its law school can recruit someone like James Duane, maybe it is not as bad as people think?

That`s a traffic tticket. They know and YOU know you are over the limit. You`re not going to be put to death, your not going to jail, If you are getting a speeding ticket, you are most likely speeding. In this case, if you talk to a cop it MIGHT work (if you`re hot enough :) ) If noy, PAY. Wtf are you gonna say, ``no, fifth amendant man, I`m not gonna discuss the speed of which I drove, which you probably recorded on your thinga-ma-bober``
Pay for your fuckups, deny when you can.

Unless you get pulled over doing 150 in a 65 - which is a felony. My buddy had this happen.. Normally he would of ran but we were on an interstate with no exit for another 20 miles - and you simply don't run on the highway - thats how you get caught.

He got pulled over and he remained silent to the cop's questions because the cop asked hi speed and said knock 1 mph off and hwas going to jail. This already meant the cop didnt clock him above 90mph.

Turned out he didnt clock him at all.

He just knew he was going extremely fast and was trying to get him to confess to a speed that'd let him take him in.

However as the camera obviously proved from what footage it had that he was going fast as hell - he got a reckless driving ticket... Which got dropped when he agreed to take a driving school class for 1 day.

gotta love the fifth :)
