Not quite unfortunately. You can claim the right to silence, but the police can still question you as much as they want, and attempt to make you talk. You can phone a lawyer, who will attend the police station, but the lawyer will not be present while you are questioned. The US laws are stricter. Canucks need to be able to stand up to continuous questioning without a lawyer, even after having claimed the right to silence.

Don't EVER speak to law enforcement, so many times they have NOTHING on a suspect but pretend to and try and press him and if they had just kept their mouth shut they would have been fine. If the cops had anything on you they would NEVER need to interview you. NEVER speak to those corrupt pieces of shit, evoke your 5th or say you want a lawyer and that's that. Cops are only cops because they are not good at anything else, there's a reason they only make 40k a year, fucking talentless scum.

Police seem to think they are preventing crime by harassing everyone to weed out the criminals however what it’s doing in actuality is preventing people from assisting police in investigations bc they are afraid to talk to police & don’t want to be a suspect in a crime bc they admit to being at or are at a scene. Police need to understand their role. It is to respond to crime, apprehend criminals, and collect or preserve evidence at the crime scene WHEN A CRIME HAD BEEN COMMITTED. = )
