Well he was a profuse ciggar and marijuana smoker and an alcohol and pipe addict, so he must've been a very stressful and violent person without them or even with them to a certain degree, probably his father was too, and he had never got the chance to redeem their relation which cost him his first marrige and ruined the life of his wife and sons.He probably didn't reach maturity untill his second marrige.

Somtimes you've got to stand up against your father and make him realize you're family, if it was hard now cannnot imagine how hard it was when he was a boy. I cannot blame him, he was probably the biggest victim, howver I feel pity for his sons and beautiful young wife because none of his sons had the guts or mentality to face him and make him realize they were family.
He is however my favorite recordeed voice in history.

Well David was right... This version is better it is my fav xmas song... David Bowie, just knew what he wanted to sing and that would be the end of it... I mean, i'd feel the same way. I wouldn't like to sing something i didn't like.

Bowie hated "Little Drummer Boy" and refused to sing it. Since the song was scheduled to be sung, the producers scrambled to make a new version of the song that he would sing. Bowie and Crosby had less than 2 hours to rehearse it.

Why'd he hate Little Drummer Boy? Its a lovely song. This compilation is lovely as well.

Some people simply think it's a dumb song, Bowie included. Anyways, although it was a bit snobbish of him, I'm glad he behaved like that. Otherwise this version of the song would not have been written.
