THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH, that' is exactly what I was thinking when these christians argue "Oh, its only on the old testament, God came to earth and abolsihed them". If you take the bible literally and an absolute word of God then stop being incoherent by choosing one form of law over another!

PWNED. By the way, why do so many people need to complain about a 4 minute clip on youtube? We came to watch the video, not listen to you bitch.

God bless. YNWA.

Wow, some people on this thing really love to instill their beliefs in other people. Lol. I love this clip because I love the West Wing. For those people who actually watch(ed) the show, we all know that Bartlett wanted to be a priest. He attended Notre Dame but then met Abbey so decided against it... He obviously believes strongly in God and the Bible.
Either way, I don't care, he is one SUB-ZERO cool man. Legend!

@xclevermealsx Well, of course the words will be different after translation. That's what translation is. The scentence structure may vary, but, if the translation is done properly, the meanings are the same.

@padfootrocks That comment would have been so much more affective if it itself was written with proper grammar. I'm sure it was better than the person you were talking to, though.

Thank you. Many people today like to quote from the Old Testament and its laws that seem unreasonable today, but they haven't seemed to read the New Testament carefully enough to realize that when Jesus came, the old law was no longer needed, and that He gave us a new one to follow.

@lavendee2 Your comment made my day. I'd have said exactly the same thing. It frustrated me that the woman in this video didn't say what you did. People simply can't use these laws of the Old Testament to put down Christianity when they're not even followed anymore.

You're sorta missing the point. He wasn't necessarily putting down Christianity. He was suggesting, why do people pick and choose which laws from the Bible to follow? People always follow some parts of the Bible, and ignore other parts based on their own agenda, they are hypocrites for doing so. If you're gonna put don't homosexuality, because the Bible said so, then you should also follow ALL of it's other rules. Don't be hypocritical and self serving, and follow only the ones we like.

But now we are DELIVERED FROM THE LAW, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. Romans 7:6

It is written, Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; NOT OF THE LETTER, BUT OF THE SPIRIT: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. 2 Corinthians 3:6
