Is a Cat Stuck in a Tree Really News?

After some feedback I got on my "soft news" analysis of the renetto-gregsolomon controversy, I noticed a 17 second clip from the Fox TV comedy "The Simpsons" also raised this serious issue. Juxtaposed with a questionable news teaser from my local NBC affiliate, these two clips lead to two serious questions I pose at the end of my video.

The 17 second clip from "The Simpsons" is taken from episode 1807 titled "Ice Cream of Margie (With The Light Blue Hair)" that originally aired on November 26, 2006 and is described in greater detail at: http://www.thesimpsons.com/episode%5Fguide/1807.htm

The 3 second clip of the cat in the tree was a news teaser that ran on my local nbc station, KCRA, on December 6, 2006.

It's annoying when the news informs us on how many babies were born on Mother's Day or Father's Day or New Year's Day or Easter or Christmas. Every single fucking day of celebration they inform us "Oh someone's kid was born today, she must have got a surprise, hurr hurr hurr", and every single year it's all the same. A bit prejudiced too, why isn't MY birth date glorified too huh?

I got ahold of a news article for a sixth grade current event and i should have payed attention because it was just about an average beehive being removed, i think i either got it from Arizona Republic, or USA today.
