I never knew this was Philip Glass!!! I remember everytime I heard this my mom would get scared and turn the channel just from hearing the music alone! ahahaha! But THIS my friends....got me into fusion when I was 11 years old...then Philip Glass came after Lyle Mays and Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock...Oscar Peterson...you name it.
I do remember a creeped out vibe watching this; but it was hypnotic. Like everyone else I sought out philip glass years later because of this too. Its nice we all had the same impression from this short. The french claymation with the two little kids creeped me out most though :D
Maybe this was my first "taste" of Philip Glass's music.
I watched Koyaanisqatsi as a 4 year old and was mesmorised and haunted even by the music and the images. I found some of it a little bit scary, but loved it none the less.
However, seeing this clip makes me wonder if my first taste of his music was actually on Sesame Street because it seems really familiar in the recesses of my memory. Maybe it was having seen this as a very young child that I liked Koyaanisqati as a young child?
