Self-Driving Car Test: Steve Mahan

We announced our self-driving car project in 2010 to make driving safer, more enjoyable, and more efficient. Having safely completed over 200,000 miles of computer-led driving, we wanted to share one of our favorite moments. Here's Steve, who joined us for a special drive on a carefully programmed route to experience being behind the wheel in a whole new way. We organized this test as a technical experiment, but we think it's also a promising look at what autonomous technology may one day deliver if rigorous technology and safety standards can be met.

when the car stopped at the stop sign to make a turn you can hear them say it has lasers to make sure that there aren't any incoming cars so i would assume it works on people.

Google has two of these cars that have been driving around in the US for quite some time now and there has only been two accidents and that has been when there was a human behind the wheel who has turned the auto drive off

I just have these questions.

Does it detects other cars???

Red traffic light = stop ?? Pedestrian randomly crosses street on a non supposed place to do it, will the car stop?

What if there are people working on the street (like drilling it to repair a pipe)
