  • @CriticalThinkingOrg Do you think critical thinking could be taught to children in elementary school i e inventing 'fables' like the "Boy who cried wolf" to illustrate each type of cognitive bias. Or illustrating each subtopic with stories that give blatantly obvious examples and naming things in more accessible words?

This also makes me think of if teaching the large amount of cognitive or memory biases to children would depress them with regard to their own minds fallabillity.

  • @MacPr0xnxx0 : philosophy and music - combines creativity with critical thinking.

  • @MacPr0xnxx0

Take advanced courses in mathematics or read philosophical literature.

  • @MacPr0xnxx0. Philosophy courses are what you seek. Symbolic logic in particular is excellent. Reading and thinking about philosophical literature is an excellent way to develop critical thinking skills.

Argumentative writing and other intensive writing courses require a great deal of critical thinking.

  • This was wonderful. It is a shame that I am in my final year of the doctoral program and I have yet to have an in-depth conversation on the topics of critical thinking and socratic questioning.

  • beforehands thanks for uploading this material, by the way i´m happy couse the few one which frecuent this kind of topic has something in common the deep wish to understand how each one of us think and learn and how to improve such process... well friend this is carlos from montelibano cordoba colombia wishing u a nice day , if any of u wants to contac me please feel free to leave a mail message at supercarlos8@hotmail.com and by the way let´s keep this culture of critical thinking upform is art

  • @MacPr0xnxx0 @scottmedhaug is right. I remember some of this from writing 121. Also, some philosophy classes (ask the instructor before you jump in with both feet). Oh, and maybe some journalism (depending on the instructor). But there's surprisingly little critical thinking taught at the university level (in my experience).

  • Thank you for making this video available on youtube.

  • any class in philosophy or english lit should help in your thinking

  • Well... that is actually a good question. Unfortunately, critical thinking is rarely taught as an interdisciplinary subject of focus, rather it seems to get tacked-on to philosophy classes or shallowly integrated within other topics.
