The problem with your argument is that anytime you treat another human being as less than you, your actions are both violent and hateful. If you believe a homosexual relationship is inferior to a heterosexual relationship you are being hateful.

You are free to believe what you want. You are not free to shove your beliefs down other's throats. Civil marriage has nothing to do with religious marriage.

The only way you can hate another person is to dehumanize them by making them an object. It is very difficult to hate someone when you step outside your prejudices, outside of your narrow mind and see them as human beings, see their humanity.

Fine, how's this: I can totally defend my opinion. People that are against gay marriage need to wake up and smell the coffee. Gays/Lesbians are EVERYWHERE and why shouldn't they get married? It's in the Constitution for God Sake that it should be allowed. . How is 2 guys or 2 females getting married going to effect "traditional" marriage? It's NOT....

The problem with civil unions is that separte but equl is never equal. Civil unions for gay couples only codifies discrimination. Civil marriage have never been a religious issue. Your religion is not relevant to my life, and never should be.
