@Gmanburgers Asians aren't always white. I come from Asia and I am brown. Besides, everything is a shade of white, just different intensities. What @lonewar has listed is a political categorisation of race in the US, which was made to stop racial politics being solely about blacks vs whites. 'White' referred to the Nordic (European) racial group, whereas 'yellow' was used for the 'Mongoloid' (East Asian) race to distinguish them from others, although they are also white.

@lonewar Where I grew up, 'colour' was a measure of how fair your complexion is. So if you're white, you'd be said to be well-coloured, and if you're black, people would say you have no colour.
