i will forever remember seeing a clip on TV of this about 10 years ago, where a goalie named "Joe Germnay" got in front of a guy shooting the ball at point blank range and blocking both the ball and the stick with his face...as he was on the ground and not moving the announcers said "and a great block by Joe Germany!"...my family brings this up surprisingly a lot sicne then

@warp9988 Hand injuries happen but they're not very common. Players are taught from a young age how to protect themselves.
