@dcypher84 I use Cool Edit and FL studio 10. I also use Recycle 2.1 and Reason 5.0 as well as Cubase 5. I run the Akai MPD 18 and M- Audio Axiom 49 with these and route the Technic 1200 through a preamp and Tascam interface to rip samples. It is way easier to set your song up and to save with DAWs than the MPC and recording is just as easy. The only thing I'll say is that the MPCs pads are the most comfortable and responsive but the MPD midi controller is close.

@LEZTHEGOON I got an MPC 2500 XL and I enjoy using it but for real having DAWs and Midi Controllers is a better option in my opinion. You have to add so much on to the MPC. Memory expansion, output expansion, a CD drive (unless you wanna use floppies and a zip drive like myself). Doing anything on it is painstakingly tedious. You have to save program data, song data, and midi data separate. It's an amazing piece of machinery but all of the functionality of the MPC is in the best DAW's
