@lukealization I personally wouldn't mind if we shifted to a more isolationist state like we had post WW1 and before WW1. I'm tired as a citizen of being the top country we have to do so much that in the end just weakens us and feeds countries to rise against us.

On a personal note I wouldn't mind falling behind as a country, perhaps being number 2 or 3 why? I'm sick of my country playing peacekeeper to the world (yes I know we fight wars, so does everybody) I'm also sick of it being us that is called upon for the most relief in disasters, we keep pissing away money to foreign countries and they will never return the favor if something bad happens to us.

@lukealization we are a country of consumers. I agree that some things need to be slashed yes but if we so choose we have the infrastructure to quite rapidly outproduce any foreign power including China if we so choose, however it's quite cheaper for, us at the moment, to buy from foreign powers. Our debt should not fool anybody the US is still quite on top.

As it stands the US is built into the world. 1 of 2.

@MrAppleJaxs Before I reply, let me just say I don't hate the USA, it's a great country. I don't like the politicians and people within it.

The simple answer is that if you want any country at all in the next 50 years, you're all going to have to cut borrowing and lending money. Slash the defense budget in half, kill off NASA for the time being, raise taxes incredibly for the rich, close all corporate loop holes, cut the oil subsidies, cut unemployment benefits.

All to survive.

@lukealization wheh have we run scared to a smaller weaker country. If we so choose we could wipe every other country on this planet off the map with the turn of a few keys however we don't.

We are still the biggest and best, and that is not my own being an American talking, that is simple knowledge. US currency holds much power in the world our debt can be resolved and besides if we do in fact fall tot his debt half the world will loose its number 1 trading partner causing them to collapse
