You can fill volumes with what caused the war, and who did what, but you'll never understand it. The reason I blame the South more then the North was they fired first. There is such a thing as being too proud, to proud to admit that both sides have their fair share of blame, too proud to admit that their armies would cross the line: Sherman's March, Andersonville need I go on

The kiling that we did to each other was on a scale never seen in history. Both sides lost great numbers. It was a draw and I wish today WE would have won.I had 4 grandfathers there..God Bless Dixie..May we all live well!!!

While you delight in pointing fingers at "The North" you also ignore the fact that it was the Northern states that first abolished slavery and with it, stopped building the slave ships and put an end to the legal transport of slavery to the United States. Your attempts at history revisionism just aren't going to work on a public forum.

@WelshWebb But the North did built the slave ships my friend, its like a drug dealer and there clients. The drug dealer provides the goods to "feed" the addiction, but the blame goes on the drug user. why? because hidden evil can not be detected easily, the vicitims on the other hand lets it control there lives, collasping most of what made them the person they were. The South is my Home, and we we're the victims ( slavery was just a heavy shadow on the good of the Confederacy)

@TheRealVanillaTwix The "North" didn't create slavery in the Americas. The British introduced slavery first by bonded servitude, then later Africans as they were more "convenient" and had less chance at escape. All of the Colonies permitted slavery, but it wasn't until until after the American Revolution that the divide between the North and South came into affect.
