This painting has been done in order to write a digital painting tutorial explaining the techniques I'm using to paint. This is just meant to be informative.
Tools used : Photoshop CS3 (but older versions can be used too, of course) and a wacom intuos 3A4 graphics tablet.
Total painting time : approximately 12 hours, but I've changed the speed of the video (1500%).
I've not put music so you can listen to your favourite music while watching it. I might write and record a specific soundtrack later if you feel that it really needs music, but this is just an informative video, not something artsy at all.
I hope that it can be useful, if you have any question, you can leave them in the comments, I'll try to reply the best I can.
Sorry for my bad english, I'm french, I hope you'll understand though.

are you left handed? its just you seem to favor the left side more and i think people tend to favor their dominant hand's side when drawing. like they do the right side first, then the left if their right handed
I often look at the color palette and see it change colors constantly without changing tools or opening the color selector which seems to give you speed. How do you do that? Although the colors are different shades of the same base color I'm still curious as to how you did that.
if you hold down "alt" this is the shortcut to the color picker and you can select any color that's currently on your picture. I use this like crazy, it's usefully to keep yourself from choosing foreign values and keeps your picture constant.
If your talking about the brush he is using then you just set your opacity and jitter to the pen pressure. You will most likely not be able to do this with a mouse unless it is some how pressure controlled lol. But if you are talking about the background gradient, then you should just stop now and read up on photoshop before starting something like this.
