In honor of the 95th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, I have added Credo, a video we made in collaboration with the Genocide Museum in Yerevan.

Credo is a presentation of the only remaining fragments of 'Ravished Armenia', a silent Hollywood film about the genocide made in 1919. All copies of the complete original are lost.

To bring this disjointed but historical footage alive, we have set it to Loris Tjeknavorian's 2nd Symphony, the 'Credo', from which our project takes its name. Together, the two works acknowledge a tragedy that continues to haunt us almost a century on.

In addition to the complete remaining footage of 'Ravished Armenia', we have, at the end, included some actual photographs of the genocide by Armin T. Wegner, a German eyewitness, along with footage of a genocide commemoration in Yerevan, which, together with the final movement, celebrates the rebirth of the Armenian people, rising like a phoenix from the fire.
