Taffy's roommate Ashley and her best friend Andy throw a party, but Taffy isn't in a partying mood. Things look better in the morning, though, as Taffy tells us about her new life and her thwarted plan to attend the Sunshine Film Academy. New-agey neighbor Miranda pushes some of Taffy's buttons, and another neighbor, TV writer Trey Alan Gordon, just might give Ashley's career a jump start. We learn that sometimes there's more to friendship than meets the eye as Andy's feelings for Ashley come into focus.
Taffy stalks the mysterious neighbor from Apt. 6, and then discovers Andy's online attempt to find love. Miranda and Taffy strike a compromise, and Ashley and Trey get closer. Taffy discovers she's got an opponent in the comments, and learns a little more about Trey than she really wanted to know. Taffy holds up her end of the bargain with Miranda, as Andy tries unsuccessfully to take things with Ashley to a new level.
Taffy gets back to being herself, and tries to find out what happened between Ashley and Trey. Trey puts his feelings into song and takes his frustrations out on his laptop. Andy's visit to Ashley doesn't turn out like Taffy intended. Taffy ponders the ghosts of her past and makes an important decision. After a visit to the Venice Canals, Taffy finds Clay has left her a package. Its contents prove puzzling.
Taffy learns a new activity and misses home. When Trey reveals the depth of his feelings for Ashley, Taffy tries to intervene. Andy finds a new love interest, and Taffy and Miranda finally have the "Jesus Talk." It doesn't quite go the way Taffy planned. The Mystery Man speaks, and Taffy confronts him, but what he says makes her question herself. Ashley's big red carpet night with Trey finally arrives - but it doesn't seem like it was quite what she expected.
