One Another: an other kind of service, an other way to serve

United in the recognition of many ways
Way out in our affirmation of many ways out
One heart but not one mind
Many members but one role: to love one another
We believe in the hope "That they may all be one"
Uncovering, to get to the bottom, to be lifted up,
And drawn, all together

About Me:

Feel free to hate me for being too liberal for a Christian or too Christian for a liberal. I try to love my enemies. I'm probably too religious to be a good scientist and too scientific to be truly religious. Still, I try for the truth even if I can't always understand it. We gather to search, ponder, probe, wrestle, argue, praise, rejoice, and proclaim the overflowing and accepting, unconditional love of God. We stand for no intolerance or judgment, but leave that to God, who leads us to stand by the door. We worship as an interfaith congregation, research as a community of inquirers, and pray with hope in God's love and forgiveness and doubt in our grasp and understanding of it.

Nixation: You realize of couse that from the perspective of us Christians, you DID kill the real Jesus... we all did. Congratulations on meeting your goal!

UCCNYC, thanx 4 the invite. I am on a similar wave, although less likely to consider a skeptical piece like the Nietzsche piece a "favorite". I do engage such material when appropriate/necessary, but due to what I percieve as a negative spirit from that end, I don't enjoy it! On the other hand, "liberal" vs. "conservative" theology is a debate I am intruiged in; I am inclined toward the former while nevertheless constantly engaged with the culture of the latter.

Your description of your church reminds me of what I have heard from Jay Baker. Is he associated with your denomination (if you in fact belong to one)?

Thanks for the invite... As far as your beliefs - they seem dangerously post-modern. Desiring to be relevant to society is one thing - but be careful not to compromise on core Christian beliefs (you know: Christ, the his sacrifice on the cross, his resurrection - that he is the only way to God). Paul puts these forth as essential in both Romans and 1 Corinthians - and has pretty harsh words for those who do not.

Best of luck with your church!

Thank you very much for your invite. Of course I do believe in God, live after death...etc... but ( unfortunately ? ) I just don't believe Bible, Torah, Quran and all these books ( especially Quran & Catholic Roman Bible ) are God words. These books are something else, at best, very misunderstood.

Regards.

P.S : Atheists from all around the world, its you who have to open your eyes to the fact live is not a matter of chance or random.
