Slow Food has decided to make a video documentary about Terra Madre to describe the project in the most true and passionate way.
The movie will not be only about the event which take place in Turin on October, but is also focused on Terra Madre ideals and history.
Terra Madre is a network which brings together food communities, cooks, originary and youth people.
The documentary will narrate their stories. Your stories, your experiences, your community and your work. This is the reason why we ask for your contribute.
We will film Terra Madre official event and speechings and we'll make interviews.
But we really would like to involve all Terra Madre communities into this project, collecting video and audio material from all over the world.
For us this is the only way to make a good movie, representative of this great movement.

Don't worry if you're not a filmmaker. We'll be happy to use your videos, photos and recordings inside the documentary anyway.
We are looking for raw cuts or edited movies which could complete the documentary.
The only important thing is that they have to describe communities, work and lifestyle.
In one word they have to tell the real essence of Terra Madre Movement.
We would like this documentary to be a collective movie.

Everyone who will contribute to the documentary will be accredited on the movie.

HOW CAN YOU CONTRIBUTE TO THE DOCUMENTARY?
If you will come to Terra Madre 2008 and you have some video footage, please bring it with you. This is surely the easiest way to proceed.
We will have a stand inside Terra Madre (please ask the reception to locate it), and you can give us your material there.
We accept any type of format and support: miniDV, DV, DVcam, Divx, Hi8, DVD, CD, VHS, photographs or voice recordings (mp3, wav, etc).

WHAT IF MY MATERIAL IS NOT READY YET?

We are already working at the documentary, but the project will continue even after the official Terra Madre days (October 2008, 23th - 26th).
So if you want to take part in the project, you have a camera but you don't have any material ready to be sent, you can prepare and send it even after Terra Madre 2008.
