About this user

I'm a geology professor at the University of California, Davis. I love being a scientist, discovering new things, and sharing that knowledge with others. My main research foci are: 1) understanding the evolution of microbial communities, particularly photosynthetic ones; and 2) exploring Mars with the NASA Mars Science Laboratory. I also work with an amazing 3D visualization group, KeckCAVES (see the spelunkerUCD and okreylos channels on YouTube).
