SMEIF 笹川中東イスラム基金

The SMEIF works to reach these goals through projects that promote exchange between Japan and the Middle East.

SJCFF 笹川日中友好基金
笹川日中友好基金は、長い歴史に培われた日本と中国の絆を深め、<wbr>両国の平和と相互の発展を促進することを目的として1989年1<wbr>2月に設置されました。「友好から協力へ」という基本方針の下、<wbr>「21世紀の日中関係」、すなわち日中両国が真に成熟した社会を<wbr>築き、相互が協力し、対等な立場で世界に向けて情報を発信してい<wbr>く関係を目指し、人材育成、人物・文化交流、調査研究、会議開催<wbr>等さまざまな形態の事業を実施しています。 The Japan-China Friendship Fund, established in December 1989, seek to deepen the ties between Japan and China cultivated over a long history of interaction and encourage peace and development in both countries. Guided by the basic policy principle "from friendship to cooperation," the Fund supports projects in such areas as human resource development, personal and cultural exchange, surveys and research, and the convening of conferences.

SPF Regular Projects (Promoting Japan-US Relations)
2008年７月からSPFが実施している「日米交流促進に向けて<wbr>：日米オピニオンリーダー交流」事業の一環として行われるもので<wbr>す。同事業は、日米両国のオピニオンリーダー間で重層的な交流を<wbr>促進することにより、将来的に発言力のある知日派・知米派を輩出<wbr>し、両国の知的交流基盤を強化することを目的としています。過去<wbr>に、ノーマン・ミネタ氏（元商務長官・運輸長官）、ヴィクター・<wbr>チャ氏（ジョージタウン大学准教授、戦略国際問題研究所韓国部長<wbr>）、ロバート・ケーガン氏（カーネギー国際財団上級研究員）、チ<wbr>ャールズ・カプチャン氏（ジョージタウン大学教授、外交問題評議<wbr>会シニアフェロー）らが来日しています。

SPINF 笹川太平洋島嶼国基金
笹川太平洋島嶼国基金は、1989年の設立以来、太平洋島嶼国を<wbr>日本の重要なパートナーと位置づけ、種々の交流事業、人材育成事<wbr>業等を実施してきました。 2009年度から始まった第3次ガイドライン（事業方針）におい<wbr>ては、海洋の安全、海洋管理に関わる事業を基軸に、海洋管理の共<wbr>同実施等について歩調を合わせた活動が期待される、マーシャル諸<wbr>島共和国、ミクロネシア連邦、パラオ共和国の3カ国を中心とした<wbr>事業を行います。このミクロネシア3国での取り組みを基本に、持<wbr>続可能な開発のための資源の管理、海洋・島嶼の自立的発展に向け<wbr>た人材の育成等に尽力し、段階的にミクロネシア全域からメラネシ<wbr>ア、ポリネシア地域へ拡大することをめざします。Since its establishment in 1989, SPINF has viewed the Pacific Island nations as important partners of Japan, and has thus conducted with the islands a wide variety of exchange and human resource development programs. The guidelines for the third period come into effect in 2009, and focus principally on programs to promote maritime security and management in the seas around the Republic of Marshall Islands, Federated Sates of Micronesia and Republic of Palau. Besides, the Fund will strive to provide resource management training for sustainable development and capacity building programs that contribute to the islands' efforts to develop and become self-supporting. When the Fund has carried out its intended programs throughout Micronesia, it will aim to expand its scope to cover Melanesia and Polynesia.
