Think about it: I guess god spent a lot of time planting fossils all over the world just to make scientist appear foolish?
I guess god waited 4 billion years before one-celled creatures finally started to develop into more intelligent creatures. Such patience this god has. Intelligent Design can only criticize Evolutionary theory - such as when Paleontologist makes a false claim (hey it happens - I guess no preachers never make false claims - and at least paleontologists are not child molesters). There is no science behind Intelligent Design (oxymoron if ever there was one)

As for the power of prayer - doesn't anyone know about the Placebo affect?
Yes religion gives comfort but at what cost. Watching while the Nazi's kill the Jews. For the past 600 years so many advances in science or logic is questioned or attempted to be subdued by the Catholic Church.

Frankly if you read the Old testament there is a better case made for a malevolent god then a benevolent one. This is one thing t hat stands out more than any other.

Word on Evolution: those who think the theory of evolution is a "theory" are wrong .. it is science but it's just that evolution doesn't occur in just one way so the term "theory" has stuck. Evolution is more of a science then Psychology but less exact then Chemistry but . Evolution is incompatible with a strict interpretation of the Bible.

And the New Testament has Jesus purportedly saying several times that morality doesn't count for much .. "those who believe in the Son will find everlasting life and those who do not accept Jesus as god will find gnawing and gnashing of teeth at the gates of heaven". And Jesus believed in slavery: "servants obey your master". Southerners used the Bible to justify enslaving the black man.

Jesus knew less about the way the world works and science and how bacteria is spread .. well he knew less than what most 9 year old C and D students in school know.
Jesus was not a family values man - didn't see Mary for 20 years - purportedly said "mother what have ye to do with me?" Jesus believed in slavery "servants obey your masters"
