FAQs

- Do you have a CD of your music?
YES! See the iTunes link at the bottom of this section. The physical CD should be available from late March 2012...

- What is this channel all about?
SlightlyMadUK is a channel featuring mostly piano-based covers of Pop and Rock repertoire.

- Can you send me sheet music?
Although I am a classically trained musician, and am happy using music notation, I tend to play by ear, and do not play pop/rock repertoire from sheet music - so I can't provide notation for what I play!

- Will you make a tutorial video?
I don't do video tutorials as a general rule, because they are very time-intensive to produce. My playing style is very improvisatory in nature; this means no two performances of a song are ever identical. This makes doing a tutorial very difficult for me, as I would need to work from a 'set' version of the song. I may consider privately producing a tutorial video if hired to do so - please send me a message if you wish to negotiate this with me.

- Do you take requests?
Yes, within reason! Obviously, some songs really aren't suited to the piano, and so I avoid these. But by all means, request a song for me to cover. Just be aware that my 'requests list' is very long (and ever increasing), so it may take a long time for me to get to your requested song. Thank you for your patience and understanding! :)

- Do you perform live?
I do occasional live gigs, but most of my live performing takes place on the streets of the UK (various cities). If you've come to this channel having seen me busking, please do feel free to leave a message!

- Can I book you to perform at my event?
Absolutely! Please send me a message outlining your requirements, type of event, dates and times, along with your email address, and I will send you a quotation.

- Can I use the music from your video in mine?
If you want to use any of my piano instrumental covers, you are free to do so, but please ASK ME FIRST and ACKNOWLEDGE ME for it.
I would be delighted to see any videos made by other people, which use my music in them. If you use my music, why not post your finished video as a video response to mine?! :)

- How are your videos recorded?
My videos are recorded "live", and no editing of the musical output takes place. So yes, you will spot occasional mistakes here and there, if you are vigilant! :) I use a line-out from the keyboard into a small mixer, and direct line recording to laptop from there.

- What is your keyboard?
It's a Casio PX-320.

- Do you own copyright for music in your videos?
I do not own the copyright for musical content in my videos; please do not use them in public performance or for distribution unless permission has been granted by the copyright holder for that content.
