Yo what's up guys,
It's Mike and today I'm going to be showing you a technique called the "Double Squeeze Technique" that I use for when working out my back. Anyone can really benefit from this so pay attention, if you put this technique into practice it'll get you that much closer to the body of your dreams.
This is something I've tried a couple times before, but during my last back workout I decided to do it for every last 2 sets during my whole back workout. And I've noticed that my back is way more sore than usual.
0:29 The Double Squeeze Technique:
- This can be used for any type of pulling movement.
- Take a one arm row, for example, what you would do is double the contraction for each rep.
- So, when you do your row and reach the top of your muscle contraction, you're going to drop it a little and almost do a "pulse" for a second contraction.
1:04 What this is going to do for you is forces you to work your muscles that much harder.
- Doing that double squeeze is pretty much doing a rep and a half for each rep.
- Over time you'll find that you'll be fighting the negative motion as you go through your workout.
The time under tension is a lot higher and I personally found that I got fatigued a lot faster than I usually do with that same workout.
Here are some examples for several different exercises:
2:32 Bent Over Row
- Remember not to skip out on the full range of motion of each movement!
- And don't change your typical weight, just add this technique.
4:15 Bent Over Fly
5:35 Pull Ups
5:54 Lat Pull Down
- This technique is a lot harder with free weights, but if all you have is a machine, that's ok this still works.
I really hope this technique helps you out, try it on your next back, arm or leg day! Don't forget to not change anything else except this one thing - Keep your exercises and weight the same.
