Since 2007 Amsterdam based So Called Celeste has been making a name for themselves internationally DIY style. Whether you call their music hardcore, southern or screamo, the essence of the band is simple: loud and hectic. Full throttle and no brakes. Riffs with unexpected hooks and dirty bass sounds are complemented with overwhelming hardcore vocals. With live shows that explode with energy, the band more than lives up to these standards on stage.

Solely based on the success of their first EP release So Called Celeste has climbed it's way up in the clubcircuit in their homeland of the Netherlands. During the course of 2008 -- 2010 the band played more than 200 shows including supports for 36 Crazyfists, Horse the Band, Peterpan Speedrock, Confide, No Turning Back and Ligeia. Also the band has spread their name internationally during tours in Germany, Italy, Norway, France and Belgium.

Armed with their new release "Vultures"(December 2010) So Called Celeste puts it's self on the map permanently with an undeniable sound showing much growth in both sound and songs since the initial EP release. While recording in Graveland Studios, with producer Arno Krabman, the band further explored their unique sound that the band is known for: in your face hardcore with lots of southern rock influences while leaving room for melody. And still, the dark sound of the music effortlessly embraces the hope inspired vocals.

In 2011 the band joined forces with one of France's finest hardcore bands: The Prestige. Together they showed The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy and Switzerland how it's done. Check out the video section for footage.
