RetroRhythms is currently looking for work in the music/entertainment field. Please read on to find out more about my professional history. Additional information, as well as resume and references, available upon request.
I am a music journalist and singer. My artist interviews and articles have appeared in print and online publications such as Wax Poetics, SoulMusic.com, BlogCritics.org, The All Music Guide (AllMusic.com and print reference books), DMA, The Groove @ Berklee College of Music (from where I graduated with a Bachelor's in Music Business/Management), and my own former magazine, The Hip Key. In addition, my liner notes have appeared in reissues from Big Break Records (via Cherry Red) and FunkyTownGrooves. I have sung at various open mics and talent showcases such as Cafe Wha? and Ashford & Simpson's Sugar Bar in NYC; Oakwood in L.A.; and Mixers in Virginia Beach.

Music:
Where do I start? My tastes are quite eclectic, yet very specific at times:-) But I will say overall, I like music that falls in the realm of pop/R&B/dance/funk, yet meshes all of it together and blurs the lines ... and I have a special affinity for female vocalists who are strong-voiced or very stylish in their tone, yet not overpowering. Get the picture?
Books:
I've enjoyed a lot of biographies, as well as some self-help and fiction books over the years. But they don't quite leave the same lasting impression on me as the music!
